Company News

Macquarie Group Ltd (ASX:MQG) has hired Deutsche Bank’s David Fass as chief executive for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr Fass spent 10 years at Deutsche in London, including time as European head.

It has been a year since his predecessor’s sudden departure. Benoit Savoret resigned after just one month in the role. Last week Savoret was named joint head of global equities at Nomura.

In six months to 30 September 2010, Macquarie Group posted a net profit of $411 million.
