Watpac awarded $141M of new contracts

Contracting and property development company Watpac Ltd (ASX:WTP) has secured two new construction contracts worth over $140 million.

Watpac’s newly established South Australian Construction business has been awarded the Adelaide Airport Landside Infrastructure project, worth around $75 million.

The contract will see Watpac deliver a multi-deck car park, in addition to landscaping and paving to provide access to the airport terminal through a link bridge. 

The company has also been awarded the $66 million contract for the La Trobe Institute of Molecular Sciences project in Victoria.

Located at the La Trobe University Melbourne campus, Watpac will construct an iconic new building comprising of teaching and research laboratories over six levels. 

In the 2010 financial year Watpac generated a net profit of $26.9 million
