Downer EDI
(ASX:DOW) has been awarded a $150 million dollar contract by First Solar for the Beryl Solar farm.
Downer will provide engineering, construction and procurement for the solar farm which is about near Gulgong in New South Wales.
First Solar is a global provider of photovaltic solar systems. The company’s power plants deliver an economically attractive alternative to fossil-fuel electricity generation.
Downer says when in operation the farm will generate electricity with no water use, no air emissions and no waste production.
Shares in Downer EDI
(ASX:DOW) closed up 1.71 per cent to $7.15 on Friday.
