Myer considers new fashion label

Company News

Myer Holdings Ltd (ASX:MYR) is considering a bid on the sass & bide fashion label, according to the Australian Financial Review.

The deal would be worth an estimated $70 million.

A partnership with Myer would be difficult for David Jones, which relies on the line as one of its exclusive brands.

Australian designers Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke sold half their stake in sass and bide in 2009. The company first started with a stall at London’s Portobello Road markets.

Myer reported a profit of $67 million for the year ending July 31, 2010.
