Austal awarded $US10m for USS Manchester

Austal (ASX:ASB) has announced the United States Department of Defense has awarded Austal USA over $10 million US dollars.

It’s for a cost-plus-award fee against a previously awarded Basic Ordering Agreement.

It provides engineering and management services for advanced planning and design in support of the post shakedown availability for Littoral Combat Ship, USS Manchester.

The work will be conducted by Austral USA across Mobile, Alabama and San Diego.

Austal is Australia’s largest defence exporter and only ASX-listed shipbuilder.

Shares in Austal (ASX:ASB) trading 1.91 per cent lower at $1.80
