International contractor Cimic Group (ASX:CIM) has secured a $185 million dollar deal with BHP to provide additional mining services at the Mount Arthur coal operation.

The deal will give the group’s global mining services provider Thiess the opportunity to expand the scope of its existing operations.

Thiess provides mining services at three Hunter Valley mines and operates two maintenance workshops.

It’s been a busy time for CImic Group, just last week the company was selected by MPCALA Holdings. to construct an expressway in the Philippines.

The company says they have a long history in the Hunter Valley dating back to the 1940’s and are looking forward to continuing to support BHP.

Shares in Cimic Group (ASX:CIM) closed 1 per cent lower to $44.79 X yesterday.
