Aus Power and Gas H1 profit soars 200%

Australian Power and Gas Company Ltd (ASX:APK) has boosted its underlying net profit and reported a lift in customer numbers for the first half of the current financial year.

The energy retailer says underlying net profit soared 200 per cent over the previous corresponding period to $2.2 million in the last six months of 2010.

Revenue lifted 67 per cent to $101.6 million, while customers grew a record 40 per cent to 203,000 in the same period.

Australian Power and Gas Company has also confirmed its full year 2011 guidance, forecasting underlying net profit of between $3.5 million and $4.5 million and revenues of between $200 million to $220 million.

In the year to 30 June 2010, Australian Power and Gas Company posted a net loss of $3.3 million.
