Mining company European Cobalt (ASX:EUC) announces it has commenced its diamond drilling program for the year as planned.

The drilling at the Joremeny Adit target at the Dobsina mine aims to test high grade cobalt-nickel mineralisation delineated by previous underground channel sampling.

Five drill holes have been planned with the aim to gain understanding of the structural controls, geometry and extent of mineralisation.

Underground drilling at the site will be the next step in the program.

The company recently completed a $20 million capital raise to fund the exploration and development activities at Dobsina.

Shares in European Cobalt (ASX:EUC) closed 3.7 per cent higher on Friday at $0.14.
