Department 13 teams up with Raytheon

Developer of drone technologies Department 13 (ASX:D13) has teamed up with Raytheon Company, a New York Exchange-listed technology supplier to global defence organisations.

The companies will work together to market and support existing counter-drone technologies and co-develop new capabilities.

They will initially work on Department 13’s MESMER counter drone product, which automatically detects, stops and redirects dangerous drones.

Department 13 CEO Jonathan Hunter said the teaming agreement marks an important milestone, with Raytheon having strong ties to key customers globally.

The companies will work on counter-drone technologies that defend against growing threats that target US and allied forces, according to Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services program director Bob Busey.

Shares in Department 13 (ASX:D13) are trading 26.5 per cent higher to $0.10.
