Austal delivers second EPF to U.S. Navy in 2017

Austal (ASX:ASB) has announced it has delivered the USNS City of Bismarck EPF vessel to the United States Navy, as part of its US$1.9B, 12 ship contract.

EPF vessels give the US Navy the ability to access coastal regions in over 1000 port locations in South and Southeast Asia.

The ship is the second delivered by Austal in 2017, with USNS Yuma received by the Navy earlier this year.

Austal is also under contract to build the Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ships for the U.S. Navy.

Shares in Austal (ASX:ASB) are trading 0.56 per cent higher at $1.81.
