Online department store Kogan (ASX:KGN) has announced it will launch a pet insurance arm in the second half of the financial year in partnership with PetSure, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Holland Insurance Company.

Kogan will distribute and promote pet insurance policies under a new brand, Kogan Pet Insurance, which will offer a range of affordable pet insurance products, and will earn commission on each pet insurance policy issued.

Kogan.com Executive Director David Shafer said the partnership with PetSure was a natural extension to Kogan’s existing insurance offerings.

He added that pet insurance is a growing insurance category in Australia.

Kogan announced last week the company will launch Kogan Health, a health insurance brand, in partnership with Medibank.

Shares in Kogan (ASX:KGN) are trading 0.61 per cent higher to $4.98.
