Aristocrat Leisure acquires Big Fish for US$990m

Aristocrat Leisure (ASX:ALL) announced today it has acquired 100 per cent of social gaming company Big Fish for US$990 million.

The company said the acquisition will provide scale across Aristocrat’s digital platform following the recent acquisition of Plarium, which expanded its digital business into the social gaming market.

Headquartered in Seattle, Big Fish is a global publisher of free-to-play games including social casino games, and has about 700 full-time staff and five in-house development studios in the US.

Big Fish reported FY2017 adjusted revenue of US$458 million and adjusted revenue of US$83 million.

The transaction will be complete in the first quarter of the 2018 calendar year.

Shares in Aristocrat Leisure (ASX:ALL) are trading 6.91 per cent lower to $21.97.
