CIMIC wins $440m mining contract

CIMIC Group’s (ASX:CIM) Thiess has won a $440 million mining services contract at BHP (ASX:BHP) Mitsubishi Alliance Alliance’s coal mines in Queensland.

The three-year Bowen Basin contracts for mining services will be for the Caval Ridge and Peak Downs coal mines.

CIMIC says partnering with BHP Billiton (ASX:BHP) Mitusbishi’s Alliance (BMA) will drive value for its clients.

The company says the deal also allows BMA to bring more jobs to the region.

Shares in CIMIC Group (ASX:CIM) are trading about 0.9 per cent higher to $46.94.
