AVZ Minerals to kick off drilling at Congo lithium site

A lithium company exploring in central Africa, Congo, AVZ Minerals (ASX:AVZ) has signed a 20,000 metre diamond drilling contract.

The contract with Equity Drilling involves 20,000 metres of the planned 40,000 drill program test, to define and report on the mineral resources at AVZ’s Manono lithium project site.

The program will kick off in December and is set to take 3 months to complete. It involves using one multipurpose and 3 diamond drill rigs where recent drilling returned results.

The company says the Roche Dure pegmatite sector, has potential for significant lithium and tin mineralization given the expected thickness (up to 220 metres) and potential strike length of 2,100 metres.

AVZ also plans to drill investigate another sector where a drill confirmed mineralization.

Shares in AVZ Minerals (ASX:AVZ) closed 15.39 per cent higher yesterday at $0.23.
