Woodside Petroleum quarterly sales rise 5% to $914m

Petroleum exploration and production company, Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) has seen its quarterly sales revenue rise 5 per cent to $914 million in the September quarter.

The growth was largely driven by increased sales revenue.

Over the three months it also kicked off LNG production at Wheatstone in Western Australia, which will contribute 13 million barrels of oil equivalents (mmboe) of annual production.

Another highlight was the startup of Persephone, offshore Karratha in WA.

The oil production project was delivered $355 million below the expected cost of $1.2 billion.

Shares in Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) are trading about 1.7 percent lower to $29.30
