Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS) has been granted works approval for its lithium-tantalum project in Western Australia by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.

The approval is a final environment tick needed to complete construction and facilitate ongoing operations for its processing and ancillary plant, its Pilgangoora project.

Pilbara also closed its US$100 million senior secured bond issue.

The company says as a result of the two achievements, it’s now closer to becoming one of the world’s next significant lithium producers.

Shares in Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS) closed 9.79 per cent higher on Friday at 78.5 cents.
