Sirtex Medical Chairman steps down after 13 years

Sirtex Medical (ASX:SRX) has announced Richard Hill will retire as Chairman and Non-Executive Director, standing down from the helm on 28 October 2017.

The Australian medical company, providing radioactive treatment in inoperable liver cancer says, Deputy Chairman, Dr John Eady, will assume the role of interim Chairman until a permanent replacement is found.

The outgoing Chairman leaves the group after 13 years. In that time Richard helped the company gain presence in over 40 countries.

He also leaves the company with $118 million in cash and no debt as at FY17.

Shares in Sirtex Medical (ASX:SRX) are trading 0.14 per cent lower to $14.60.
