MACA (ASX:MLD) has been awarded a 2-year lithium open pit mining contract, south of Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The mining and construction company won the contract for work at Pilbara Minerals’ (ASX:PLS) Pilgangoora Project and will start working at the site in November.

MACA will be involved in drilling, blasting, loading and hauling, with three one-year optional contract extensions, at the discretion of Pilbara Minerals.

The company says it will use both new and existing plant and equipment and looks forward to being a part of the growing lithium industry.

Shares in MACA (ASX:MLD) closed 4.7 per cent lower yesterday to $1.93.
