Briscoe sales rise, NPAT to be above $28m

Briscoe (ASX:BGP) is expecting net profit after tax of no less than $28 million, for the half year to 30 June 2017. 

It comes as it announced unaudited sales rose 4.44 per cent to $280.3 million in the period.

The New Zealander retailer, which owns Briscoe homewares and Rebel Sports stores in NZ, saw sporting goods sale rise by 4.23 per cent, while homeware sales gained 4.56 per cent.

Briscoe says the second quarter was challenging across a number of fronts, with unexpected temperatures affecting its key promotion activities.
