Spark Infrastructure announces TransGrid funding to repay its debt

Spark Infrastructure (ASX:SKI) has announced NSW Electricity Networks Finance Pty Ltd, the funding entity for TransGrid, has made two private placements.  

The infrastructure company holds a 15.01 per cent interest in the project, TransGrid, which is a high voltage electricity transmission network in New South Wales.

Spark says the funding entity placed US$727 million and AUD$25 million of senior secured notes into the US dollar private placement market.

Spark Infrastructure expects the funds to be received in October 2017, with the proceeds to be used repay debt maturing in June 2019.

Shares in Spark Infrastructure (ASX:SKI) are trading 0.39 per cent lower to $2.53.
