The Australian Financial Review has reported that Qantas Airways Ltd
(ASX:QAN) is expected to announce the return of its Airbus A380’s to the high-traffic trans-Pacific route to Los Angeles beginning January 17.
The anticipated announcement will bring to end over two months of speculation surrounding concerns about A380 engine performance.
Analysts expect Qantas’ stock to receive a boost from the announcement.
The announcement will also increase capacity since the 500-seat superjumbos’ carry more passengers than the 370-seat Boeing 747 that has been serving the route.
For the year ended 30 June 2010, Qantas reported a net profit of $116 million.
