Vista Group International company’s (ASX:VGL) Movio Limited has signed a five year agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Film for the licence of Movio Media data.

As part of the agreement, Fox will use Movio Media’s transactional data, such as the number of tickets purchased, the day of movie session and gross box office revenue, to research and analyse movie audiences.

Fox is one of the six major US film studios and one of the world’s largest producers and distributors. It grossed over US$4.4 billion in international box office revenue in 2016.

Vista Group says the financially significant transaction illustrates the importance and value of the data available within the Movio Media platform to American film studios, amongst others.

Shares in Vista Group International company (ASX:VGL) last traded at $5.85.
