AGL’s Chairman to retire, Graeme Hunt to succeed

AGL Energy Limited (ASX:AGL) has appointed Graeme Hunt as Chairman to succeed Jerry Maycock following his retirement at the company AGM on 27 September 2017.

Graeme Hunt has been on the board of the energy company since 2012. He was previously a senior executive at BHP Billiton Limited (ASX:BHP) and served as President of its Iron Ore, Aluminum and Uranium divisions. 

He also served as MD and CEO of Broadspectrum Limited and Lihir Gold.

Graeme also chaired the Federal Government’s Renewable Energy Committee, the precursor to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)

AGL says Graeme already has a deep understanding of the company, while he also has a broad level of corporate leadership experience from abroad and Austrlaia.

The outgoing Jerry Maycock has served as Chairman for seven years and been on AGL’s board for 11 years.

Shares in AGL Energy Limited (ASX:AGL) are trading up 0.5 per cent higher to $25.96.
