Qantas Airways Ltd
(ASX:QAN) has bowed to pressure from a social networking site that campaigned against its policy carrying musical instruments on flights.
Following a campaign on Facebook that drew 8,700 supporters, Qantas has now adopted a policy that allows instruments, previously placed in cargo, to be carried on board.
The thousands of supporters came together after being outraged that instruments were at risk of being damaged in cargo.
For the year ended 30 June 2010, Qantas reported a net profit of $116 million.
