ALS Limited (ASX:ALQ) has completed the purchase of Marshfield Food Services in the USA and OILCHECK in Brazil.

The analytical testing service provider’s total purchase of the two companies, includes $18.4 million in upfront payments, plus $4.2 million in earn outs (over the next three years if certain hurdles are reached).

ALS says the purchase of the global food safety laboratory business, with annual revenues of over US$20 million, will provide it with a full range of analytical services in the food industry.

Meantime, ALS’ purchase of OILCHECK more than doubles the size of its South American business, which will allow it to build a leading market position in tribology in the area.

Shares in ALS Limited (ASX:ALQ) are trading 0.3 per cent lower to $6.71.
