CIMIC’s Leighton Asia receives $148M contract

CIMIC Group (ASX:CIM) company, Leighton Asia, has been awarded a $148 million contract by Castle Peak Power Company Limited to deliver the civil works at its Black Point Power Station in Hong Kong [for the Black Point Power Station Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Project].

The international contracting group, says Black Point Power Station is located in the New Territories region of Hong Kong and is one of the largest gas-fired combined power stations.

CIMIC says Leighton Asia has been involved in developing Black Point Power Station since it started in 1996.

The company says it will ensure Castle Peak Power Company reaches its gas-fired generation targets by 2020, and that construction should start in the coming weeks.

Shares in CIMIC Group Limited (ASX:CIM) closed 0.05% lower to $40.48.
