Orinoco Gold’s COO steps up as CEO after 2 months

Orinoco Gold Limited (ASX:OGX) has appointed its current Chief Operating Officer, Craig Dawson, of around two months, as the group’s new Chief Executive Officer.

The Brazil focused gold producer says, although Craig Dawson joined as COO in March, he would take the lead CEO role from 1 June 2017.

The company says since Craig Dawson joined the group, he has overseen the restart of mining operations at the Cascavel Gold Mine and worked on a number of operational and strategic changes.

Mr Dawson has over 30 years mining experience, which included working with global mining companies such as LionOre/Norilsk and Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR).

Shares in Orinoco Gold Limited (ASX:OGX) closed 1.96 per cent lower yesterday to 5 cents.
