CIMIC Group wins contract that will generate NZ$82M

CIMIC Group’s (ASX:CIM) CPB Contractors have won a contract that will see them earn NZ$82 million, for the final phase of the NZ Transport Agency Project.

The contract is for the design and construction of the State Highway 2 Baypark to Bayfair Link upgrade in Tauranga, which is on the harbor side of New Zealand’s north island.

Construction is set to kick off this month, and the upgrade will be open to traffic in 2020.

CIMIC Group says the project will support economic growth in the region and create a safer more sustainable road system.

Shares in CIMIC Group (ASX:CIM) opened 0.5% higher to $40.05.
