Elders: Stronger results, improved seasonable conditions

Elders Limited (ASX:ELD) has announced a 56% rise in its statutory net profit after tax to $38.3 million for the six months to 31 March 2017.

The agribusiness company also saw an uptick of 30.2% in its return on capital, compared to the prior corresponding period.

Its underlying EBIT rose 47% to $41.3 million on the back of improved seasonable conditions and benefits from geographical growth.

Elders says the results reflect their focus on organic and acquired growth, as well as record livestock and wool prices across the country.

Shares in Elders Limited (ASX:ELD) are trading 1.1% higher to $4.45.
