According to its latest trading update, Ardent Leisure’s
(ASX:AAD) theme parks attracted 37.7% less visitors in March and April.
During those two months, the company’s unaudited revenues fell 38.9% to $9.6 million – compared to the same period last year.
Ardent Leisure’s visitation and revenue were impacted by a large number of customers cancelling or deferring their Gold Coast travel plans – particularly due to higher levels of rainfall, flooding and damage caused by Cyclone Debbie.
The company is expecting its Theme Park division to report an EBITDA loss of around $2 million to $4 million for the year ending 30 June 2017.
This morning, Ardent Leisure shares are tracking 4.03% lower at $2.03.
