Orocobre’s lithium production drops but sales increase 1Q 2017

Orocobre Limited (ASX:ORE) has announced its lithium production at its Olaroz facility dropped 21% from the prior period. 

The lithium producer says although its production was in line with guidance, its sales in tonnes increased 5% from the December 2016 quarter to March 2017 quarter. 

Orocobre also announced it strengthened revenue by 19% at the Argentina facility and maintained its available cash on hand of US$30.6 million from the prior period.

For Borax Argentina, its production increased after it improved efficiencies and performance, while its sales volumes rose 10% from the December quarter.

Shares in Orocobre Limited (ASX:ORE) closed about 7.30% higher yesterday to $2.94
