BHP reports record Iron Ore production in WA

BHP Billiton Limited (ASX:BHP) has announced record production results at its Western Australia Iron Ore mine and at five Queensland Coal mines for the nine months to 31 March 2017.

For the same period the mining giant reported reduced copper production guidance after 44 days of industrial action at Escondida.

In its other operational news, BHP’s metallurgical coal guidance fell to the range of 39 to 41 mega tonnes after Cyclone Debbie damaged rail infrastructure.

Meantime, its Gulf of Mexico oil development project, Mad Dog Phase 2 was approved and a contract was executed with PEMEX Exploration and Production Mexico.
