Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) has formalised a deal to buy all the generated power from the Bungala solar power plant in South Australia – after the project has reached financial close.

In February, Origin signed a conditional agreement with the developer, Reach Solar, to purchase the entire 220 megawatts of solar power from the project.

Origin says it expects to start receiving power from the first stage of the Bungala solar farm by the summer of 2017/18.

The company also expects the entire 220 MW to be operational by August 2018.

This morning, Origin shares are trading 0.54% higher at $7.49.
