Michael Hill sales increase 5.5% in 9mths to March

Michael Hill (ASX:MHJ) has announced its total store sales increased 5.5% for the 9 months to 31 March 2017.

The jewellery retailer also managed to achieve same store sales growth of 0.8%, while it also put on an extra 18 stores in the period.

It comes as the group’s Emma and Roe brand saw total store sales growth of over 70%, while the Michael Hill branded total sales growth rose over 4%.

Michael Hill says amid the increasing Emma and Roe presence in Australia with 26 stores, it will increase its marketing spend in the next 12 months as critical mass is achieved.

Shares in Michael Hill (ASX:MHJ) are currently 3.57% lower at $1.35.
