Harvey Norman Holdings Limited (ASX:HVN) has announced the Australian Financial Review and Sydney Morning Herald both falsely reported that the retailer was being investigated by The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

Harvey Norman says its accounts are not being investigated by the corporate watchdog, and what both media outlets reported on Thursday 23 March was false.

For confirmation of this interested parties are welcome to contact ASIC’s media unit.

The retailer also says its full year report for 30 June 2016 and its half year report ending 31 December 2016 were lodged with ASIC and ASX and are in accordance with the law.

Shares in Harvey Norman last closed 1.14% lower yesterday at $4.35.
