CBA struck with computer glitch

Company News

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) has been struck with a computer glitch that has prevented some customers from accessing their account information.

CBA says a file for some of the bank’s business customers scheduled to be processed overnight was not completed, resulting in some customers not being able to access some account details.

Fairfax media says it believes some of the business accounts are showing a zero balance, and while retail account holders have not been affected, it is not known how many businesses have been impacted.

CBA has apologised and says it is working to rectifying the problem.

Commonwealth Bank lifted its net profit to $5.7 billion in the 2010 fiscal year.
