Wesfarmers Ltd
(ASX:WES) has dropped its production forecast for its Curragh mine as a result of extreme weather conditions.
Wesfarmers says recent heavy rain in central Queensland has impacted the production of metallurgical coal from the mine.
As a result, full year coal sales volume is now expected to reach between 6.0 to 6.5 million tonnes, which compares to the previously forecast amount of between 6.2 to 6.7 million tonnes.
Earlier this month Wesfarmers declared a force majeure on Curragh's export and domestic contracts, which it advises remains in force.
Wesfarmers reported a $1.56 billion net profit in fiscal 2010.
