News Corp boosts employees pay

News Corporation’s (ASX:NWS) employees' looks set to benefit from a 10.5 per cent pay rise over the next three years. Under the new agreement employees will receive pay rises of four per cent in the first year, followed by pay rises of 3.5 per cent and 3 per cent in the following two years. The agreement follows a string of enterprise agreements in the media sector.

Recently Seven Network Holdings Ltd (ASX:SVN) announced they would be increasing their journalists wages by 9 per cent over the next three years.

News Corporation booked $3.1 billion profit for the year to 30 June 2010.
