Atlas Iron Ltd
(ASX:AGO) says its iron ore shipments have soared in the September quarter, up 78 per cent over the quarter before.
In the June quarter Atlas shipped around 164,700 dry tonnes of iron ore, which has climbed to almost 293,500 tonnes in the three months to 30 September.
Iron ore mining lifted by 173 per cent in the September quarter over the previous quarter.
Alas says mining, ore processing and port haulage rates were at or above its internal forecasts, and that the company continues to pursue its growth target of exporting at a rate of 12 million tonnes per annum by the end of 2012.
Atlas Iron reported a $40.85 million loss in the 2010 financial year.
