PanAust increases production targets

Company News

PanAust Ltd (ASX:PNA) has delivered record copper and gold production for the three months ended on 30 September, and also boosted its annual production guidance.

In the 2010 calendar year the miner is aiming to reach output targets of 65,000 tonnes of copper, 55,000 ounces of gold and 500,000 ounces of silver, all above previous production goals.

The upgrade was encouraged by record production at its flagship mine in Laos. In the September quarter the mine produced almost 17,000 tonnes of copper and 14,410 ounces of gold.

In the first half of this year PanAust moved into the black, from a loss the same time last year.

Managing director Gary Stafford said the turnaround profit was driven by increased sales and higher commodity prices.

PanAust booked a profit of $62.36 million in the six months to 30 June 2010.
