Sandfire Resources DeGrussa plant upgrade

Company News

Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR) has increased its target throughput rate for its wholly owned DeGrussa copper-gold project in Western Australia.

Following a recently announced resource upgrade, the minerals explorer has increased its target throughput rate from 1 million tonnes per annum to 1.5 million tonnes per annum.

Sandfire says it is expecting a boost in annual copper and gold production for sale into a strong copper concentrate market.

Adding that the company is aiming to move seamlessly into production next year to take full advantage of record copper prices and the robust outlook for the copper market.

Sandfire Resources reported a loss of $29.55 million in the 2010 financial year.
