JB Hi Fi posts 26% profit growth

JB Hi-Fi Ltd (ASX:JBH) has reported a 26% increase in full year net profit to a record $119 million.

The electronics retailer says sales growth was driven by computers and telecommunications, accessories and audio visual goods, as well as the maturing of recently opened stores.

The company has declared a fully franked final dividend for the year of 33 cents to be paid on the 3 September.

CEO Terry Smart says the company anticipates another strong year of sales ahead, expecting a 17% sales increase to around $3.2 billion in the following12 months.

JB Hi-Fi opened 23 new stores in the last financial year, the most opened in any one year, and expects to add to its current 141 stores by opening 18 more in Australia and New Zealand.

JB Ji-Fi reported a profit of $94.44 million for the year to 30 June 2009
