Orica focused on mining-related aquisitions

According to media reports, Orica (ASX:ORI) CEO Graeme Liebelt is focused on adding new mining-related acquisitions to the company’s portfolio.

On Friday Orica announced the demerger of paint maker DuluxGroup, which today lists on the Australian Securities Exchange.

According to The Australian, Mr Liebelt’s told ABC Television that Orica will be continuing to grow its mining related business.

Mr Liebelt says the company sees opportunities for growth in acquisitions and the explosives business, with the Minova business involved in explosives, chemicals and mining industry services.

Orica reported a profit of $541.8 million for the year ending 30 September 2009.
