There are reports that Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd
(ASX:VBA) new CEO, John Borghetti has head hunted two senior managers from his old workplace Qantas Airways Ltd
(ASX:QAN) to join the team, and more may follow.
Mr Borghetti is expected to announce a management re-shuffle sometime this week as part of a planned overhaul of the whole airline.
According to a Fairfax report, Karen McKeon, general manager of government and international relations at Qantas for over 10 years, left yesterday and is expected to start at Virgin within coming months.
Will Owens, head of pricing at Qantas will also joint Virgin as head of yield management.
Mr Borghetti plans to make Virgin Blue a more business focused airline with an aim to take a bigger slice of the corporate travel market from Qantas.
Mr Borghetti says the company does not plan to exit the leisure travel market, but will focus more intently on its business class offering.
Virgin Blue Holdings reported a $160 million loss for the 2009 financial year.
