James Packer’s gaming and entertainment company Crown Ltd
(ASX:CWN) has announced changes to its board including the appointment of two new directors.
Nine Network Australia’s CEO David Gyngell has been appointed as a director of Crown, along with Sydney University professor of medicine John Horvath.
Mr Packer announced that professor Horvath will chair a newly formed committee of the board, the Responsible Gaming Committee, which will oversee and enhance the company’s responsible gaming programs and performance.
Mr Packer says he believes that the two new directors bring with them significant and diverse experience to the Crown board.
The company also announced that Westfield’s David Lowy has resigned from the board of Crown.
For the 2009 financial year, Crown booked a $1.197 billion loss.
