Transfield Services Ltd
(ASX:TSE) says it has secured a new $200 million contract with the Western Australian Department of Housing.
The three year contract is for the management of repairs and maintenance of the Department’s public housing in Perth.
The company says it will also provide repairs and maintenance services for public housing and government regional officer housing in the Great Southern, Midwest and Pilbara regions of Western Australia.
Transfield, who has worked with Housing NSW since 2002, says it will employ around 600 local subcontractors.
CEO Dr Peter Goode says this new contract brings the total of government-owned housing premises that will be maintained by Transfield Services in Australia to 100,000 and highlights the company’s continued organic growth in the sector.
Transfield Services fell into the red in fiscal 2009 after reporting a profit for the two years previous.
