Foster's Group
(ASX:FGL) new managing director John Pollaers has made his ambitions clear that wants the company's top job, and many expect he'll get it within the next year.
Mr Pollaers is the new head of the $2 billion Carlton and United Breweries business - making him the sixth MD at Foster’s in seven years.
Many investors expect that he’ll succeed Ian Johnston as chief executive within a year.
The Financial Review newspaper quotes Mr Pollaers as saying that he has always wanted to run an iconic Australian company.
He’ll front shareholders today in his first official briefing with a plan to revive the beer company.
He certainly has his work cut out for him as Foster’s Group has been battling a poor performance from its wine business and CUB, which produces Victoria Bitter.
In the financial year to June 2009, Foster’s Group reported a $438 million profit, which was an improvement on the year before.
