Hastie Group Ltd (ASX:HST) wins contracts worth $66M

Provider of technical services to the building and infrastructure sectors, Hastie Group Ltd (ASX:HST) has been awarded contracts for four projects in Qatar worth $66 million.

CEO David Harris says the company has been appointed Leighton Contracting Qatar to provide mechanical and chlorination work for a $233 million water infrastructure project.

A second infrastructure project, for the Public Works Authority of Qatar, is to provide pipeline reticulation for office cooling systems as part of the US$2.6 billion Energy City project.

Another project involves mechanical, electrical and plumbing services for a major hotel development, and the fourth contract is to provide services for the New Doha International Airport aircraft wash apron.

Mr Harris says the projects confirm the company’s strong market position in the Middle East, where the company is currently undertaking work in Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

Hastie Group reported net profit after tax of $58.34 million for the year to June 30, 2009.
