Shopping centre owner Westfield Group
(ASX:WDC) says director Dr Gary Weiss has decided to stand down from the board.
Mr Weiss is also an executive director of Guinness Peat Group.
The company says Mark Johnson will stand for election as a director on the board at the company’s annual general meeting on May 27.
Mr Johnson is chairman of AGL Energy and the Australian Financial Centre Forum, and is a former executive of Macquarie Group.
In a statement to the ASX, Westfield says Mr Weiss is to step down from the company’s board at its annual general meeting due to an increase in business commitments.
Westfield Group posted a $457.8 million loss for 2009.
