Oil and gas explorer Santos Ltd
(ASX:STO) has appointed Jane Hemstritch to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Ms Hemstritch is formerly the managing director of Accenture’s Asia Pacific division and is also a non-executive director of the Commonwealth Bank and Tabcorp.
Ms Hemstritch has broad experience across the oil and gas, telecommunications, government, financial services and manufacturing sectors.
Chairman Peter Coates says he is confident that Ms Hemstritch’s extensive background in the resources and related sectors will enable her to make a significant contribution to Santos.
Santos reported profit of $1.65 billion for the 2008 calendar year.
